At Milton Road Children’s Centre we pride ourselves on the relationships that we foster with our children and their families. Our Educators are committed to building a creative, loving and safe environment for all children in our care. Our philosophy is that all children are created equal regardless of their ethnicity, religion, culture and beliefs.
Milton Road Children’s Centre proudly represents its local community with a sincere commitment to provide high quality education and care practices that coincide with National Quality Standards, Early Years Learning Framework, QLD Kindergarten Learning Guidelines and all relevant legislation.
Our Centre has been family owned since 1997. The Licensees have created and maintained a Centre that not only supports the children and their families but also supports our staff, hence as a result our Centre has many long term employees that have been with us now for between 10 and 21 years, which is a rarity in the childcare industry.
Too often today with our busy lifestyles, our children may miss out on many memorable childhood experiences. We believe that children can thrive through nurturing relationships, creativity and play.
In providing children with guided, responsive and play based learning, we aim to nurture creative and innovative problem solvers and children that are adventurous, independent, curious and playful.
Our programs are flexible and adaptive and we encourage a child’s natural curiosity and desire to learn. In fostering strong relationships between staff, child and peers a child will learn resilience, confidence and trust which in turn will inspire them to learn and create.
My Name is Nayomi Samarajeewa and I am the Nominated Supervisor at Milton Road Children’s Centre. I hold Advanced Diploma of Children’s Services as well as Advanced Diploma of Management and Business Administration.
I am originally from Sri-Lanka where I studied Bioscience before moving to Australia to study Medical Science. My studies included components of the Batchelor of Nursing where my interest in working with children came to the fore. I decided to pursue my passion for Early Childhood Education as I always felt passionately about working with children and providing each child the best possible start in life through early education and nurturing.
I have been with Milton Road Children’s Centre for almost 10yrs and during my time I have been able to develop my understanding of children’s development, family values and desires of their children.
I firmly believe that every child is unique and as such, children should be allowed to develop at their own pace and in their own way. As children grow and develop at different rates it becomes the responsibility of Early Childhood professionals to become advocates for Children’s Early Learning. I guide my team of educators to establish educational curriculums that support Children’s intellectual development and enhance a sense of belonging.
